How to Brew with the 3-Cup Chemex Coffee Maker
The Chemex requires its specially designed paper filters, which sit atop the brewer to ensure a clean and crisp cup. For the best results, use freshly ground coffee to capture the full depth of flavours. Employ a gooseneck kettle for a precise and gentle water pour, enhancing extraction. A coffee scale with a timer helps you control both water volume and brewing duration, allowing you to perfect your recipe by adjusting the coffee-to-water ratio to your taste.
The Chemex coffee maker was invented in 1941 by Dr Peter Schlumbohm PhD. As a permanent exhibition piece at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and other museums, Chemex is a true work of art. Chemex is a family business with a head office located in Western Massachusetts. This is where their coffee makers, filters, kettles and accessories are made before being distributed across the globe. The symbolic Chemex coffee machine has remained unchanged for 70 years, and this is set to continue.
