Sourced from the Finca Santo Tomas Perdido farm in Guatemala, situated at altitudes between 950 and 1600 metres, these washed beans are carefully medium roasted to reveal a rich, fruity profile reminiscent of red berries. Expect a gentle initial taste with a full body, balanced sweetness, and a lingering finish evoking caramelised apples, delivering a consistently satisfying cup.
Farm Heritage and Sustainable Excellence
The Inca Santo Tomas Perdido family farm, nestled in Guatemala’s Solola region near Lake Atitlan, has been dedicated to producing specialty coffee, honey, and renewable energy since 1996. The volcanic slopes’ nutrient-rich soil, combined with the unique microclimate shaped by Pacific winds and the lake’s cool air, creates ideal conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee. The farm harnesses its natural resources to generate hydroelectric power from the Rio Santa Teresa, producing up to two megawatts per hour, ensuring energy self-sufficiency and allowing surplus electricity to be sold. Originally purchased by Olga Alvarado’s family after her son Carlos, an agronomist, recognised its potential, the farm has remained a family venture for over two decades, now managed by the third generation, Javier Torrebiarte.
